This game was the final push necessary to convince me that I need a 360... And money...

I'm just glad they're putting out more games that I like. right now, I only have 4 games for my 360, and nothing else really interests me.

now if only they'd make ToS2 for the 360 instead of the Wii.

Very, very interested in how this is a 360 exclusive. From Namco, no less.

If it's as good as Symphonia or Abyss, I'm sold. Even it it isn't as good, but still up there, I'm sold.

And it's nice to see more JRPGs developed for the system that don't involve an actual Microsoft-funded project.

One thing about the Tales games, I've noticed, is that you can really get the feel for what's going on in the creative minds of each team that makes each game. Some things are constant in each game, but at the same time, each tends to be a totally different experience from the others. So looking foward to seeing exactly how this one's going to turn out.

they've already set the bar pretty high for themselves for this game, from all the reactions I've read. honestly though, I think this one has the potential to be the best Tales game yet.

as far as 360 exclusives, this would be their second. Eternal Sonata, although I've heard of a PS3 port, I've yet to see it.

Slightly off topic...
I've also not heard of the Eternal Sonata port for a while, like it dropped off the radar entirely. Last I heard, EVERYTHING was being re-tooled for the PS3 release, not just the promised new chapter and content.

(Honestly? An uber-version of Eternal Sonata might convince me to get a PS3 much, much more than FF13 or MGS4 ever could...wonder where the news about it went?)

I wouldn't really call it an uber-version. from what I've read, the only real changes they've made have been some minor event additions to "help players better understand the story" (although I thought it was pretty understandable already..), the addition of prince crescendo and princess serenade as playable characters, and the inclusion of a costume system to let you change the character's appearances. not really worth the $400 of buying a PS3 just to have those extras, I think.

See, for me, this is why for me the PS3 will always be the greater console: no frickin' region locking -_- For instance, all exclusive PS3 games come out the same time world wide, and if they don't, you can just order it from overseas anyway. Where as the 360 still has region locking (if the game is multiplatform it comes out at the same time to compete), but anyways, what's annoyed me:

Quote:
4:20: North America release for Tales of Vesperia will be in August some time. Europe will be in 2009. Asia outside of Japan will be some time this summer. They explain that this is a first for the series -- a near simultaneous launch.
So yea, have to wait an extra half year >.> (Europe and Australia share the same release dates). Also since the 360 is region locked and I dunno anyone who does modifications to the 360, like I'd trust anyone to mod something as temperamental as the 360 anyways, yea, long long wait >.>; oh and, necrobump ftw o.o
