This is a codec pack "most" anime and hentai videos will be played with.
this will play the other stuff like ogm and mkv

ive been using windows media player and it isnt working for a lot of videos, is there some other player i need to make these work?

Install that codec pack gulk posted which will allow your Windows Media Player to read the file extensions listed.

All so, don't forget VLC, as it includes its own decoders for a lot of things.
Zoom player is a good alt for windows as well.

For linux, mplayer , vlc, and xine are good options.

i've been using vlc media player to watch my hentai, movies, and most everything else, it will play pretty much everything from downloaded videos, to dvd in my dvd player, 100% free @ download.com and easy to update... no codec packs required...

IMO GOM Media Player is best for all your file extensions it has no need for codecs.
