Wow, that game is more fun that I thought it'd be.

Just one question: What is B2 ?

In short, B2 is a flash program made by some japanese group called Isotonix that lets you make nifty little games like that. (If you click the link to their site at the bottom there are a lot more B2 games there) Or more precicely, it's the behind-the-scenes software that lets it run in the first place. The site made an editor that lets you make the games themselves, but it isn't the best program in the world. Appearantly someone else who goes by Oni made a much better editor, but doesn't seem to have it up anymore. The editor and software were all made exclusively by japanese people, with japanese people, for japanese people. Nothing against that, but I don't speak ANY japanese, and other than B2 there wasn't an english word or letter on the site, tutorial, or in the editor. I got to spend most of three days reverse-engineering the whole damn thing. But I have availed! Now I know my way around making and decoding those things like nobody's business.

In fact, if I remember, one of the images in your vast collection was a B2 game, Gulkeeva. I remember it had that big red "Congratulations!" across it. If I could get the link to that, I could get you a nice clean, crisp image of that.

It's that I can actually dissect the games. The word displays when you win in all of the games as a default, so unless you actually uncovered the congratulations, I can dissect the game and find the files the game uses, which you probably can't get to just browsing the directory.

Oh, and if you hadn't noticed, I'm the embodyment of the line "God, I didn't ask for your life story." <.<

I love these games. I'm always looking for new ones, but they aren't exactly easy to find...

I put all nine images together in a zip file for all to enjoy. (initial image, uncovered image, and win image for three games) All with their original file names even :D

Funny, they were all in the index of the page. Yet I didn't realize that until AFTER I did it the long way -.-

Well, I haven't posted anything in God knows how long, but I've finally gotten around to doing some more FFXI art. I've revamped my art style a lot recently, and as such, I've been wanting to draw a lot more. I at least like to think I've improved since last time.

The first image is just a mithra 7B wearing the child-mithra dress, and pulling an Asuka.

Second is my character Nakate once again. Since last time she's grown her hair out, and gone blind. (I'm still working on the backstory for that.) She opts to still wear her glasses since they draw attention away from that her eyes are always closed. She's also stopped wearing underwear all together, and in thinking about retiring from the adventuring business to work for Liliroon as a perfumier, has been wearing much more casual outfits.

Finally, this is my friend's character Bunji. He's a huge fan of Jojo's Bizarre adventure, so I felt I had to draw this. There are about a hundred refrences to different things in this picture... I chose Jotaro's white outfit to match Bunji's hair, to better fit the first line Nakate says. We noticed how his hat and hair were completely seperate in the beginning of the manga, but grew into one as the story progressed. The second line Nakate says, and Bunji's line is taken directly from a page of the manga where Jotaro's outfit was trashed while they were in Pakistan. Next frame, he was in full outfit again, and Joseph asked how he got a Japanese school uniform in Pakistan. Jotaro replied thusly. The final refrence is that Nakate's expression is taken from Hanataro in Bleach. Bunji and I kind of have a story or three behind that.

I never like to post when I can't contribute something, and if I'm going to contribute, I prefer it to be something worthwhile. Because of this, I haven't made but 16 posts so far. I promise i'll actually make an attempt to post more often from here on >.>

Either my last post fell under the radar, or nobody cares. Well, I don't care either way, you can't stop me, Ahahaha! (I really need to get a hand-held recording of Laharl laughing... or maybe Zetta's laugh in Disgaea 2...)

Two new images. Only one FFXI related, but I figured I'd post the other anyway. The first is a shot from tennis practice at an all girl's university. All female, including the teachers and staff. No male is permitted on the campus, and as such many of the girls have become a bit more... relaxed. I may make an ongoing comic involving that and these two, but only if I can find the time.

The second my friend has called the "Freaken' badass FFXI JoJo Wallpaper" It's me, Bunji, and a number of our friends on Sylph, all dressed up as JoJo's Bizarre adventure characters. From left to right, Elkhim as Dio, Spork as Abdul, Lynflux as Polnareff, Bunji as Jotaro, me as Kakyoin, Cerulean as Iggy, and Tadooi as Joseph. Made in 1024x768

Haha... Special thanks to gengenskitty for informing me I gave the tennis player TWO RIGHT HANDS. I hate drawing hands... oh, and the picture has been fixed.

I appearantly I got the name wrong on the JoJo wallpaper, it's actually "freakin' kickass FFXI JoJo wallpaper" He said badass is just as good though, referencing Zetta's constant shouting of "I'm a badass! AHAHAHA!" He also demanded I add the subtitle "Awesome just got awesomer" I don't think I'll go that far... but I think he likes the image.

Kakyoin does kind of look like a Matrix character now that you mention it... Maybe it's just the difference in art styles, but the original isn't so much Matrix, but mine is... It may be the sunglasses. Kakyoin goes blind near the end of the series and starts wearing those sunglasses. Seeing as Nakate has gone blind in her backstory, I opted for the glasses. I'd post an original image, but I deleted the reference image I used, and the internet seems to be seriously lacking in original JoJo art. (Though it seems to be overflowing with fan art...)

Edit: Special thanks to Bunji for pointing out I gave Lynflux two right hands... Gawd I'm bad at this... and the wallpaper has been fixed.

Your welcome for the pointing out of that mistake. Although, the scene it comes from just thick with irony. Anyway, it's always fun to see a good friend really apperciated along with the artwork. Looking at older works compared to newer works definitely shows that it'll only get better.

As to Kakyoin (Nakate), looking like Neo from the Matrix. Supposedly, if you take Kakyoin from near the end of the series and place him next to Neo, it's an eerie similarity. To make matters more interesting, I can point out a few other things that JoJo's and the Matrix seem to have in common, but I'll spare the details and let Nakate get back to drawing.

ok, a few more images to tide the time. At the moment, it's just a few random images from the all female university I mentioned a few posts back. We have Yuki, a kind girl, but once she found a vibrator, she's become very unreliable. Tatsuki, an energetic, forgetful, sporty girl, who's constantly apologizing, and was given the wrong size uniform. Then there's Kaeko, the main character, who's energetic, high-strung, and a little bubbly. She's also madly in love with Tatsuki, and not afraid to admit it. The image shown is the first page in her ID book, which all students must carry with them at all times. Finally, I have a completely unrelated image. Just something stupid that crossed my mind. Since I'm in a bit of a rush, I only shaded Kaeko, and kind of shaded Tatsuki. I'm currently working on a few mithra images that should be along shortly. With this done, and that I've finally beaten Twilight Princess, this time I can really get to work on Neko-Sentai Online.

Okay, back once again with a few new images. First three are of my FFXI character, the next five are of two twins. The way I have my hair modded, I realized to tie it back as I do, her hair would have to be rather long, and that inspired these drawings. The second image is Nakate resting in a field as she often does, and the third is her mid-battle. That's not actually Koenig she's wearing, it only looks like it. The quasilumins created the armor for her to help her out. They made the armor completely indestructible, which let them imbue it with a number of magics. However, the indestructible nature of the armor makes it completely rigid, so it doesn't deform to absorb any attacks. Since it doesn't deform or absorb at all, it prevents her being run through from a sword, but she takes the full G-force of an attack. Because of this, and her body rattling around in the armor after each attack, she actually takes MORE damage than before, all in exchange for the abilities imbued in it.

The twins were more inspired by my wanting to experiment with different camera angles. The first is twin one, then twin two, then one, then two, then both of them.

Actually, it wasn't too difficult to color the armor. What I do is put each color on its own layer unshaded, and then shade them all (except for skin) with 10% opacity black on a different layer (going over it multiple times to make it darker). This lets me shade large, complex objects all at once, then go back and get smaller details piece by piece. Also, if I screw up, I can just erase that part of the layer, and the color is still there. Skin looks funny when you shade it with black, though, so I made up a little color chart with common skin tones, and specific colors I use to shade each one with.

I'd say the hardest part of the whole process is getting my pencil-art onto the PC without losing quality. I have a *really* fine-point artist's pen, but my hand isn't steady enough, so I have to straighten out some lines once it's scanned. Once I've scanned it, I mess with the opacity and brightness to clean it up, then go over the whole drawing with a fine-tooth comb adding, removing, straightening, and cleaning the line art. It gets me close to what I'm after, but there's got to be an easier way... but then, I also just suck at inking, so there's that :D

yeah that sounds like your doing things the hard way lol...if you want I can tell you some faster and maybe better things. I found an interesting tutorial on how to color things on Deviantart and I use it almost always now. Used of Gradient maps, then use dodge and burn tools. And yeah i have tht problem when i scan my art lol if I want it to be super clean I have to retrace my sketch :X and dodge and burn tools dont work as greatl w/o gradient maps. I can find link of to how to color that way if you want.

I'm pretty happy with my shading so far, though admittedly it could use some improvement, and I think a complete change of method would be a bit much. I'll certainly mess around more though and experiment with the dodge/burn tools. What I really think I should look into though is a new method to get line art in... everything I've come up with is either more trouble than it's worth or has less than remarkable results...
