I haven't been able to figure out the Samidare ones because I can't read the part of the description where the hint is. If someone could get me the hint I could probably figure it out.

As for me, there's a new set of effects BeamMan just released called Z Particle that seems to have some really great collision effects, including falling water effects I've been looking for. But when I loaded them into MMD, none of the effects did anything (except sucking up the RAM and dropping the framerate to near zilch). They all just generated a small, colored sphere at the origin point. Changing size and transparency, even moving them, did nothing. My computer's a year old, it ought to be able to run this. The instructions didn't say anything other than load it into MMD, with Autoluminous if you want to. The distribution video was no help, it was just a demo of the effects. Beats the shit out of me.

Warning: The unzipped files are almost a gigabyte.

Also, wish this Sara model wasn't behind a paywall (and it seems like Melonbooks is blocking non-JP addresses now, I get 403s):

some effects like manga tears start working upon loading
other like water simulator require to hit play for it to start doing anything.
no idea why

for me the new effects just needs to hit play [first 3 from the top]. however some effects made mmd shit itself and make a slow lagy particle line [z-fire]

as for the model, you're in luck. I was awake when it was thrown around in 4-chan

I completely forgot about the play requirement for some effects. The tutorial video didn't make it look like that was necessary. It was probably in some audio commentary I didn't notice. I'm still not sure that I'm going to be able to use them in my movie, because they're really CPU heavy and I already have a lot of models loaded in there, although generally only a few are in shots at a time. For fire and gun effects I'm going to stay with the older ones but if I can get the water one to work it'll be used.

Sara will definitely be in the movie though, so that was a huge help. The ones I'd found so far... don't exactly have the best-looking faces.

The sperm on her face is a facial morph, the sperm from the penis looks like some effect similar to this. https://www.deviantart.com/zazi-the-...d-DL-645860258 No idea about the saliva, personally.

Was there a public full Jervis release or are all of those self edits?

Default Need help with pmx

I'm working on a darling in the franxx cockpit model (still working on it hence why it doesn't have any textures) , Does any1 know how to make certain parts (like a pillow) have a soft texture not glossy in MMD without the MME addon?, I can somewhat create it in blender but can't in pmx.

p.s It's not an exact recreation as you can tell

Also any tips on how i can improve on this model would help as well

Sphere files can be helpful for that sort of thing. Using the right sphere can give a soft shine or glow effect.

There are two ways spheres can function; they can be additive which means they add light or a "sheen" to the model, or they can be multiplicative, which takes light away from the model and makes it a dark reflection. .spa files are always additive and .sph files are always multiplicative.

As for how to get a good shine effect, you basically just have to experiment. I've made lots of sphere files myself, it's easy to do, you can even use MSPaint for it. If it's an additive sphere you start with black, which adds no light. Anywhere on the sphere you add gray or a color it'll reflect light in that color.

Because MMD renders it as a circle, a lot of times on spheres you'll see gray at the corners of the square to create a glow at the edges of the object and a black circle in the middle with some gray highlights in random places on it to create reflections. The brighter the grays are, the brighter the reflections so you generally don't do full-on white unless you want a hard reflection. Also, soft or blurry edges in the sphere will make a soft light effect, hard edges will make a sharp light effect.

Multiplicative spheres are a whole different animal; they take light away from the model rather than adding to it so they're almost always in color and have a variety of tones to them.

tl;dr: Use sphere files, look at some from models you already have and if none of them give you the results you want try making your own.

P.S. on .PMD models you only have so much space for filenames for textures and spheres so you have to keep names short. .PMX doesn't have this restriction.
P.P.S. if you're using someone else's sphere files make sure they allow usage in their T.O.S. This is one of the many things Nanami bitches about.
P.P.P.S. just like textures, spheres give you clearer results the higher the resolution. Most spheres are 128x128 or 256x256 but some are 512x512.

Edit: You can also use the texture files to achieve a similar effect. It tends to take some much more hardcore image editing, though.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know much about .spa or .sph files before this.

You might also want to try lowering specular RGB and reflect values in the material settings.

I haven't seen Darling in the Quebec, but I would suggest sampling the cockpit colours from a screenshot of the show for authenticity. Your current colour leans to turquoise rather than grey blue.

They were simple colors I added just to view it in mmd and see if the model scales properly with other models. I will take the Lowering the specular RGB and reflect values into account when I finish the model with the textures, thanks.

doesn't the pilot sit in a chair, rather than having feet stuck in the cock pit?
