Chrno cruzade...the death of both guys scene was one of the most beautiful ever...how the made the sunset and the clock song representing death...worth watching it all just for this scene ^^

Also, id say the death of Nagi @ Mai-Otome manga (the anime story is completelly different from manga)...He thought he was in love for the princess of Windbloom, but he kept his love even after discovering the princess was fake...and that "she" was man, and that she hated him and conspired against him for thinking he was the source of all evil (in part he was =P)...i watched mai-otome anime waiting for this scene, but it never happened ; ; /frustrated

Mai-otome anime is cool tho, the new story is good...just not even close to be as good as the manga.

Scrapped Princess... when Pacifica meets her twin brother. You'll know why.

Of course after that I had a feeling of "...lolwut?" but that's besides the point. :P

Default Cry

The Climax of Mahou Negima Sensei when everyone cries when Asuna suddenly dies.
The episode of Shakugan no Shana 2nd when Tanaka witnesses Ogata-chan had gotten seriously injured from Margery's psycho frenzy after seeing the silver flames.
Many parts of Elfen Lied when things were just so unfair, and definitely when the Younger Sister died.
I saw Shuffle and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien was mentioned, but I forgot if I drew a tear for them.
Forgot if I had anymore Anime.

Air I think was sadest anime ive seen, I actually dont like the anime cause so many episodes of just sad things happening.
Elfen Lied...the moment the clock stops working, was moving and sad to me.
Chrono Crusade kinda same thing.
Voices of a Distant Star (Movie)
Im sure theres more...but those ones come to mind. But Air takes the prize to me :X.

Trigun when wolfwood dies
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann when Nia just fades away at the end and Simon says goodbye to everyone
Green Green when Mizori dies/goes to the future, I'm really unsure what happened there cause in episode 12 they say she goes to the future, but in the dvd only release episode 13 it seems more like she's dead and is a ghost in the tree.

Shakugan no Shana - first season, haven't seen second. (Which makes me cry too.)

Kannazuki no Miko - Every last episode, and for about a week after the last one.

I haven't cried to an anime/manga in a long time... but not too long ago I bawled my eyes out seeing the Going Merry's death in the One Piece manga. I can't even imagine how bad it would have been seeing the anime first.

like, the last 3 episodes of wolf's rain was really emotional for me. I think that was also the first anime I had ever seen where all the main characters die O.o;

I haven't cried from anime, but i will admit, when Spike died in Cowboy Bebop i felt very hollow inside.

Now.. in my first RPG ever, FFVII (yeah, i know it's not an anime...) when Aeris is murdered. i still didn't cry, but it was the first time i had ever experienced something like that in a game. i just stopped playing for a few days. Couldn't continue on past that point as she had been one of my favorites. As i progressed through the game, i kept waiting for them to pull a fast one, and bring her back. But as we all know, it never happened...

EDIT: Thought of one that made me cry, i mean seriously, made me cry hard. I was only 3 years old, back in 1986, and in the middle of a huge movie theater, i had to watch my hero die. I think you all know where I am going with this... The death of Optimus Prime.

The big one for me recently was D.Gray Man.

That isn't the whole thing, but still. The story, plus I'm a sucker for Latin songs sung well.

PS: Spike is not officially dead. The ending was supposed to be an open-ended, where you decide if he was dead or not.

On a side note, a lot of series / shows that have enjoyed ended this way. What's up with that, anyway?

Yes, i've read the interviews saying that Spike isn't necessarily dead. I'd be all up for a sequel to bebop personally, or better yet, a prequel that elaborates more on the dynamics of Spike, Vicious and Julia's relationship.

As for Transformers, if you have the 25 anniversary edition Hasbro elaborates on what their motives were behind the slew of character deaths. Simply put, they wanted to make way for the new line of toys. They had no understanding whatsoever of the popularit of the characters. Even Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, the voice actors behind Prime and Megatron were clueless. They read the script and pretty much said "Hey, my character dies, oh hey, yours does too! Wow, they must be really unpopular..." They had no idea of the backlash that would happen. Angry phonecalls, kids crying, even death threats. And what's worse? A few episodes into the new season that brought Prime back again as a zombie just to kill him one more time!

Hasbro has gone on to say that in retrospect, killing Optimus Prime was a bad idea....
