Not sure honestly. I mainly just used a .7 mechanical pencil and shaded in layers instead of how I did it with other drawings. Still not happy with the way the nose comes out, but as I said it was an image I saw online somewhere and I wanted to see if I could shade it properly. Alot of the hard outline was softened/blended in to give it less an outline feeling also, which I didn't do with prior drawings at all. The outlines for the figures are predominate over the shading I think.

Decided to upload some pics of what I do on SL. While I might not be the greatest at drawing...I do so enjoy seeing what I can do when I'm allowed to tinker and modify things. I think I finally got my glowing neko down just the way I always wanted her when in pitch black lighting. Careful opening, these are all DSR pics so they are rather large.

The first of what Kali looks like when in RP apparel. I tend to RP her as a mentally unstable neko that has an affinity with creating rather lethal poisons and an untapped magical pool she isn't fully aware of.

The rest is just various different poses and pole dances and how the light illuminates her colorful stripes.

PS: Don't mind the creepy looking stuffed animal in the corner peering into your very soul!

Wouldn't be proper to not have some NSFW items. Again these are DSR and in low lighting, but not midnight like before. Yes....even that glows so imagine what it is like for the other party when done!

Did some work on my Second Life avatar recently, and since not everyone knows I do updates in photo album I figured I'd add them here since it is a form of digital expression.

This is what I ended up with after doing a lot of ambient glow and lighting effects along with some custom textures in my tail. And yes, depending on lighting and angle, the stripes on my neko can vary in color and intensity.

Yes, these are Adult images, and a couple are sexual in nature....but please understand, if you send me an PM saying "Hey, wanna fuck" I'll ignore you in a heart beat.

What a sexy kitten!!! And only just noticed, in some of the first couple pics, you have spectators in the room in the shadows....

No..no, those are...figments of your imagination yeah, that is it ^^; And that is a friend of mine, lucky fox eh? I have pictures with other friends, but I don't like to post them all over so usually they just remain in a personal collection or if I do post those ones the other is cropped out for privacy.

Some additions to my Neko on SL. Finally figured out specular mapping and managed to give her stripes a sort of glitter effect. Additionally, at night I can either make this glow, or not glow. These are all DSR pictures to try and show the amount of change this has over all.

I'll be working on the maps a little more, but so far the effect is nice and glad I've managed to figure it out this far X3 I'll post more once I have the layer just the way I want it to be, but as all things go this is a trial and error until I'm happy with it.

Managed to get the stripes just the way I wanted them, and also some new furniture! After all, every kitty must have a pillow pile! I took a couple duplicates to show that light does reflect off of them and affect how they look. Might make a gif of it later on too.

I was asked to show a Light/dark comparison of the stripes, so here it is.

Anyone who works with specular/normal maps in SL will tell you that the glowing I have is more based on the ambient lighting my Neko has, but is highly accented in the dark since it is reflected directly making it seem like the stripes themselves glow. Due to this, I can adjust how the colors of the stripes look by adjusting the color of the ambient lighting shining off it. This is shown by the fact my tail has ambient light effects causing it to reflect differently when it curls closer to the stripes and further.

Wait, what? stripes? colors? I'm supposed to be staring at what again???

Very neat ambient effects kit, I think that tail waving would be hypnotic...
but so are those tiger striped thighs

Kitkat, is second life fun? I just checked and it seems... interesting to create an avatar that would represent yourself.

It is that type of 'game' that is what you make of it. It is more or less a social venue and creative sand box more than anything else. People have made games within it, but with its limitations currently they aren't as well polished as something made to be a game first.

It lives off the micro transactions, but you can find ways to get paid by DJing, hosting, or other such things. The creator even made an area for collecting gems to get a meager amount of ingame currency for free in trade for your time to collect them.

I mainly enjoy it for community reasons as I've met a lot of interesting people on Second Life and I'm an avid roleplayer. Second life has given me that chance to make a character I could imagine, then actually RP as that character without super imposing something that wasn't actually there. That is how I derive my enjoyment, but others will get into it and not be as interested or find it to be lack luster. To that, I say Second Life is what you make of it, but don't go into it thinking you can make an awesome avatar right away or that it is intended to be anymore than a social chat room with sandbox capability first that maintains itself off micro transactions. Again though, it can be free and you can find ways to make L in otherways, but the real enjoyment doesn't start until you either learn what to look for or know how to create the clothing you want in Blender or Maya then upload it to SL yourself - this cost ingame currency to upload also.

I can add more to this, but if you want to know more before diving in just send me an PM and I can answer more specific questions there, as for now I have to get ready for work.

Edit: Also I have done more additions/changes to my neko, but I'll have to make snapshots of this later to post.

Recently reskinned the stripes I have on my neko along with some reflective specular mapping on her hair and ears so figured I'd share how it all came out. These aren't DSR pics this time since the new sim build is rather shadow intensive, but still fairly good quality. Also in the background is the new build in the RP sim I frequent on SL.

I put this together as a joke, but was happy with how it came together that I decided to take a couple pics. These are DSR so rather large when clicked on to show detail. The whole reason this was a joke is that the rp sim I frequent is having a Masked Halloween ball and I threatened to show up as a masked neon peacock neko with nothing but what is pictured.

A gif to show some shimmer that I was able to finally get on my tail. As usual, converting to gif deteriorates the quality of the image, but you can at least still see the shimmer effect as the tail moves and is affected by ambient lighting along segments of it and the hair I wear. This is done with material effects with textures where there is a base texture, a shine texture, then a bump texture that works to affect environmental gloss as well as what happens when light reflects off of it.

If you look hard enough, yes beyond the kittens ass, you can see this effect on the tail, parts of the hair, jacket, and on the black section of the boots when the tail drops down to shed light on it. Her stripes have a miner effect like this, but for the most part it is very subtle and not noticeable in the gif at all.

p.s. I know the looping is bad, but getting it to 100% line up is impossible since the character idle animation and the tail sway animation are independent of one another meaning they never line up the same way as each has a different loop length. I also wanted to show how this effect works on the hair as well as the boots meaning I had to leave some additional frame time in there. Had I been able to shorten it down I could have possibly left the gif at original 1080 size retaining some of the quality that was lost by making it about 50% smaller.

Just a fair warning, all of these are very dark for a reason. I recently did some changes to the ambient lighting again and even made an effect that looks like Kali's stripes cast off light onto nearby surrounding objects. Some of these are going to be visiting on an old set I did which I named "Are you afraid of the dark?" but it perfectly shows off the overall effect I wanted for this character. Some are taken in slightly less darkness, and the rest in standard day light
