omg Netflix's Jo Jo Bizarre Adventure. I love it! No spoilers but is it the backstory to another famous classic anime?

JoJo's Bizarre adventure is an episodic series which follows the Joestar family through the years as their individual members can't seem to not get into interesting and dangerous situations.

JoJo's is constrained to its own in-story universe and is not the backstory to any other series, though the series itself does heavily reference other works. For example, part 1, Phantom Blood, was heavily influenced by Fist of the North Star.

Currently there's 8 parts, each with their own encapsulated story and loosely related to each other.
