Well here is a Tutorial on how to prepare a sketch for line art. Please let me know if this was helpful. I may make a few more if people are interested. Drawing the line art, coloring, textures and effects, etc.

Added a yes vote as, although I'm no artist, it's really clear and I think it'd be really useful for helping people improve on the technical side of converting their artwork. Can never have too many artists around

While I did click no, I did so because I have a different method. Your method might be faster given how slow I am coloring things in lately.

No this is really handy, I wish i had something like this when I was touching up some of my older sketches and I was just playing around with the settings. o.o it looked very odd when I fiddled around with everything xD

I've been too lazy to research it (and make any art as of late) but I can't seem to get my waccom configured properly to display a more accurate, sensitivity to the stylus. That would be extra handy to figure out so I can hand draw hairs or give choose to give outlines a variance on thickness based on the stylus's pressure.

I would have clicked a 4th option other then "no" if you'd included something like "I have another method, I already knew this" Like I usually start in greyscale because that has more gradients of grey than RGB, based on what I last researched. it also erases any color-noise and makes isolating an outline easier. From there I do the same inverse selection method and right-click "layer via cut" before erasing the white background left over and cleaning up any static that the scanner picked up.
