Ok VRS has pissed me of yet again I've tried using it before in the past and didn't get very far, and yet again I'm getting no where kinda happnes when I can't load the god damn .dat files ><

*sighs* anyone think they can help me w/ this? I'm using the version from the company website and under the tools area it doesn't give me shit. Nothing doesn't give me the option to bring FFXI models or the FFXI tools thing I got nada. If you can help me thanks if not thanks anyway.

Edit: I know someone created a Mithra tail or Mantra tail whichever you prefer for Hume M a while back, but it doesn't swing back and forth like a Mithra's. Is there anyway to get it to swing back and forth? (I think I might have asked this before don't remember lol.) I know I know skeletons and all but could it be done? Honestly and personally I think or would think that you could just copy and paste the motion from the Mithra tail to the Hume one but yea I know it's not that simple. Be nice if it were though lmao.

I had this same problem when I tried using it.... I updated my DirectX and it put the FFXI tools in the toolbox. Not sure if you have the same problem, but it's worth at least checking out.

Yup like I thought but had to check to make sure but DirectX 10 comes with Windows Vista which is what I am running so it's the latest unless a newer version has come out. If this is the case, if all possible can I get a link to the download for it.

It took a long time for the link to work for me, but it did eventually work.

Ok I got it to work now, I waited a good 20 minutes, then came back and I had to log in again, might of been site issues or something.
Anyways, thanks again for this post it taught me 99% of everything I know (and going to relearn here real fast) about dat modding.
Edit: nope wasent the website, seems to be good ol' vista just being made of suck.

With FFXIV coming out soon, I may have to make new tutorials. I seriously doubt Model Viewer, VRS, Metasequoia, and ChangeTex will work with FFXIV. I'm interested to see what new programs will be designed to interact with it.

As a side note, these tutorials are the only instances of having my voice available to be heard on the internet. Admittedly, I'm a little embarrassed every time I hear myself.

Thought I would notify that the links in the first post are broken and lead to a page stating:
Quote:
You're probably trying to go somewhere you shouldn't be! Please try the url again replacing the the www with users ( users.neko-sentai.com) or please wait as the problem is fixed (if your trying to check "users" accounts)
Even placing users at the front of the link just leads back to same page.

What you need to do is remove the www in the beginning, place "users" there, and then remove the users/ further on. For example,

Code:
http://users.neko-sentai.com/wenrick/tutorials/VRS%20Tutorials.rar
As opposed to

Code:
http://www.neko-sentai.com/users/wenrick/tutorials/VRS%20Tutorials.rar
That'll make em work ^^

(I agree with the sentiments others expressed, he has a nice voice :p though I recommend looking into Mooshy's weightless porting guide and using that info on porting. It came after these guides were made so yeah.)

Yeah, Gulk's had some domain changes over the years, I guess. Looking through my old PMs it appears I tried to resolve the issue with Gulk, but apparently he never got back to me. I'm currently in the process of getting it all sorted out.

I get a 404 error whenever I try to click on any of the links in the original post. Does anyone else have a backup of these tutorials?
