Default Area .dats

Ohhhh! I duno if it is possible, but if you want to do furthur modding, you can make the trees dead in Dynamis Bastok/Sandy... And I wouldn't mind a more lush Windurst or Lufaise.

As for fun, funky mods... what about making a fun house? dunno if this would be possible but it would entertain me while LFP if their was some sort of room in Aht Urgan like the one with Gordeus in it to have all these goofy mirrors and lights and fireworks and stuff!

You could do it, just wouldn't be done very quickly.

I'm not sure how to move this topic into the other thread that you wanted to reply to, so we'll have to wait for Gulk to do it.

Well the only problem with adding onto area DATs are that other people can see where you are moving.. Like, when I first figured out how to do it, I changed Whitegate to Western Altepa desert. I would just run around and people would /tell me that I'm climbing up walls and jumping over things. Prolly not a good idea to mess with area DATs in areas with lots of people.

Only good to change your Mog house (never zone out though and always log out/shutdown by your moogle) since no one can see those changes, since, if you zone out, this could happen:

Thought that was hacking, but it could still happen if you go somewhere like Ru`aun gardens or Empyreal Paradox with your .dat swaping.

I have a question about area dats: Do the NPCs within the zone remain in the zone after the dat is modded? And can new NPCs be placed into such a zone?

Although I agree it's probably really dangerous to make drastic changes to an area, I can think of some good. Sometimes I fall into the ocean in windy and have to warp on out. Wouldn't it be interesting if we can put stuff under the water, and mod it so it's easier to fall through and get out in places we normally could anyway, so from the outside it doesn't look like anything is out of the ordinary? Just a thought.
