Default I'm fiddling with my . . .

. . . new shiny dats!

Been experimenting for fun and I haven't found a lot of fun stuff just yet, but I did find something interesting.

Chocobo Racer coat, perhaps?

And it comes in several flavors. Here's just two.

I'm wondering slightly if the other colors might be blue, tan, and the other nation colors, it'd make sense with a chocobo racing place in most nations isn't there? :?:

Seems chocobos are taking over vana'diel, now maybe we'll even have aketon's for "Move faster on chocobo's in areas nation _____ controls."

That's just my hunch. It'd account for multiple color variations at least I think.

There are 8 total colors. (Hume male files)

1-181-60 - Orange
1-181-61 - Charcoal / Black
1-181-62 - Violet / Purple
1-181-63 - Sky / Light blue
1-181-64 - Blue / Dark blue
1-181-65 - Crimson / Red
1-181-66 - White
1-181-67 - Mint / Green

I think I've found the ones for other races, I just don't know which race goes with which yet.

the reason for this is mindlessly simple, it's just like horse racing. all the jockeys are dressed in different colors to make it easier to see who's who during a race

Ahh! Shows how much I know about horse racing. And it also lets us know how many ppl can be in a race at one time. Eight sounds like a good number.

And before I go to bed, I'm going to display 3 new sets I found. I'm still documenting stuff, and I think there's another set or two I haven't found yet. I'll continue this tomorrow.

Why hasn't someone already released the new list files. ?

The problem is the limited capabilities of the PS2. I know plenty of people who argue it, but the graphics in FFXI are kind of dumbed down to keep them PS2 compatible. That's why you get so many rehashed models of pre-existing equipment and mobs. Sad but true.

Knowing that, though, they really shouldn't have reused the Bison gear. It's one of the LEAST attractive sets in the entire game. I don't know anyone who likes it. Even women character models can't make it look good.
