Default help a n00b out

I'm going to attempt to switch my IP address and see if that helps my connectivity issues with the game... I know WHERE to change my IP address in my router configuration, but.. do I just pick a random number or something? >.> how do I know what IP address to enter without fucking up my internet?

From my understanding you can get a new ip without messing with the router by just going to Start-> Run-> cmd-> ipconfig release-> ipconfig renew and then you'd have a new one. Also I am not sure why your IP would be the cause unless POL set a limit/block on you for some reason so maybe re-check firewall settings or contact your ISP if the IP reset doesn't help.
