Default Anti-Aliasing in FFXI?

Since I believe we don't have any FFXI "General" board, this seemed the best place to ask this.

Title really says it all, is there any way to turn on Anti-Aliasing in FFXI? I have a Nvdia graphics card, and tried setting it's anti-aliasing settings to always on (for test purposes, tried everything between 2x - 8x) from "application controlled." But it didn't seem to make any difference, and my FFXI graphics look the same as always.

So, has anyone figured out how to get anti-aliasing to work in FFXI?

You probably would need to change the resolution manually in your registry in order to set it up. At least, that's what I did.

For example, I run a custom windowed mode of 1280 x960 so I can see my taskbar and etc; if you double the values in your registry, you can pretty much set it up that way.

Anti-Aliasing does crap in FFXI since the game graphics themselves are rendered offscreen to a texture which then gets displayed on your screen, and all the anti-aliasing is able to do is anti-alize the beautiful 4 edges of that texture...
(which works great on a console as it was designed in mind for with the PS2 since it allows easy wide-screen support.....but damn did the developers that did the PC port do a half-ass job adapting it to the computer's hardware prowess)

One way to fudge it is to crank up the resolution of the texture to 2048x2048'ish, done via..

Run -> Rededit.exe -> HKEY_Local_Machine -> Software -> SquareEnix -> FFXI -> Change values 0003 & 0004 to 2048 in decimal format.

Hmmm, thanks for the response (haven't had a chance to check until now), but could you go into a little more detail as to how to do this? What is Rededit.exe exactly? (A google search brought up what appears to be a game files editor for the game Red Alert. I'm not sure if that's it)

For that matter, is it packaged with Windows? I just tried to use it and to no avail.
