Do you mean make your own into DAT, or just change it with another found in the game?

Use AltanaView to find the location of that DAT(s) you want to swap and then located them within your Final Fantasy folder (on your Harddrive) and then swap them with which ever you want to replace that with (Remember to always backup DATs before overwriting them.

I changed the dats in model viewer and I tested them IN model viewer but they didn't change inside the game.

The game's music are the .bgw files. There's a link on here somewhere to a program that can convert .wav files to .bgw files. It also does the same for the sound effect files.

This didn't help.

When I downloaded a song off ffxidats.com I went and switched the right .dats and renamed the new song for example music101.bgm I then tested it in model viewer and it played the new song but It doesn't play in the game.

EDIT: My Mog House music has changed. But the battle will play outside (I tried it in RoZ outdoors and it worked) But it won't work in RoZ dungeons (temple of uggy is RoZ dungeon is assume).

The only thing I can think of is make sure you're putting the .bgw file in the correct folder, and it's named exactly the same as the original music file. RoZ's music files are in a different folder than the original music files.

I know. I always use Model Viewer (MV) to just refer to Foyle's, and not to refer to AltanaView.

That may be the issue, you need to rename the the "new" *.bgw to match the "old" *.bgw, remembering to back up the "old" *.bgw before replacing.

Even if it is as simple as I posted above... doesn't explain while the AV is showing the "change" but the game isn't. (unless there is user error somewhere)

No it's named right I have triple checked it. The music works everywhere else just not in RoZ dungeon or maybe just not in Temple of Uggy.

Do bear in mind that ROZ uses different music, same with COP and TOAU, they have their own versions of the opening music, their own battle music, etc. If you replaced the file in one folder, it'll work, when you fight in the right places.

I believe I have seen somewhere that some of the expansion music files aren't "compatible" with other zones, so for example ToAU Music won't work in other areas, but other areas may work in ToAU. So that could be the reason, would explain why AV displays/plays it correctly and the game doesn't.

I think I found the problem. I never changed music115.bgm to the new music which is dungeon solo, so hopefully thats what the problem was. If not its what person above said. Thank you all who tried to help!
