Default Fun new Mod Viewer, complete with emote adds!

Was posted on Alla, managed to DL a copy (Source would be Xoops someplace)

http://tune.ache-bang.com/~vg/module...AltanaView.zip

Quote:
This software works only with FFXI Japanese Version by default.
To run with English Version, try following:
* Create a new file named "AltanaView.ini" in the same location as the extracted "AltanaView.exe"
* Write the following in this file

[FFXi]
PolInstallFolderKey=SOFTWARE\PlayOnlineUS\InstallF older

or

[FFXi]
InstallFolder={{ Your FFXI Install Foler }}

* Run "AltanaView.exe"
Source link: http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.htm...2;num=9;page=1

Something I noticed is that I can add/remove emotes EASILY from the folders (Ex: Program Folder > List > PC > ElvaanF > Motion.csv) thus, a bit more freedom. Only catch is, its all Japanese atm.

Another thing I noticed is that if you want to add your custom emotes, you have to add the file in the numeric order, thus, if its in a folder where last mod is 172, your new one must be 173 :\
Same goes for folders, so no random folder names with this ap. Just thought I would share since one of the only problems I ran into with the original model viewer was if I wanted to see a certain emote, I had to literally replace an existing one.

Now to find some good old custom emote dats...

I noticed it on there, wasen't sure if it was possible a virus thing at first so never touched it, I thought this was only a viewer like model viewer, cept in more ofa 3D enviroment.

You've been able to swap "single" emotes out with other emotes? or is it jsut identifying a "Dat" file that has the emote...?

You mentioend something about a csv, I'm guessing it extracted a emote out though...? By chance able to show an example through the program options?

basically, like how you can add dat mods to be viewed in the viewer without first changing out your characters, Feba's viewer lacked the option, or at least I never discovered how, to see how a certain emote would appear in the viewer without being forced to replace an existing one. In other words, you can add an emote to a custom folder (Well, as long as its in numeric order) and see how it would play on your char without having to decide which current emote would have to be replaced.

Well, scan didn't show anything but that is the correct one from XOOP. Which is that new Model Viewer, it includes a music list you can play and a seperate folder for the Chocobo's you breed.

It seems almost like POL Utils but for the purpose of showing the models.

Should also mention Kilandor (Created the first VRS Translation before the updated one) is suppose to be in the process of translating this one.

Easiest way for Ini creation, make a text file, copy and paste what I mentioned earlier, then save it as the file but add .ini at the end XD

Thats how I always made them rofl.

As for how to add dats, just make folders in numeric order, add the files with the file name changed to be in numeric order, then properly link them in one of the appropriate csv(?) file.

When you download this file and extract the contnets from the .rar there should already be a AltanaView.ini file. Change the line towards the bottom of the file to match the location of your FFXI folder which you can get from copying and pasting it in from the properties window when you locate that folder.

Here is a copy and paste from the .ini file:

English Lists!!! :D I worked on making the .csv lists in English. So far I only have most of the stuff in Effects, Music, and Tarutaru PC stuff done, but PC equipment and NPC lists are pretty easy. I have Ability, Black Magic, White Magic, Songs, Ninjutsu, Skillchain, and Corsair done (more or less :P ) and Blue Magic is about 50% ~ish done. Don't really want to touch the Item or Others lists :cry: If anyone wants to add to this or make corrections, please do! :D
Edit: Added some pics.

UPDATE:
I got the English version now and decided to make my own improvements to the translated lists. I noticed some errors on the translated lists which I fixed, and I added a bunch of stuff that they didn't bother to do (like bard songs, corsair, PC motions, etc.) Download the New and Improved English lists below! (I'm going to keep the old pics up too) :P

UPDATE again:
Deleted old lists set... See page 4 for a newer lists set for the English version.

i copy and pasted the pc armor lists from old folye's modelviewer into this one

only did humef however. will work on mithra when im not so lazy

if you want to make your own lists, then the trick to look out for is folye's lists show the dats as folder-dat, while AV has it as folder/dat. if youre working in notepad just replace all -'s with /'s, then go back through the list and grammar edit the -'s in the armor names, so shinobi-gatana doesnt show up as shinobi/gatana

Heh, I missed a few "/" that need to stay as "-" :P But yeah, that's basically what I did, just haven't got around to doing all races.
Edit: Btw, where did you get the .dat numbers for the angon and throwing tomahawk ranged weapons? The latest list for Folye's model viewer doesn't have them.
