Default How you got your character name..

So yeah, just as the title says..

How did everyone get their character name?

Made up? Saw it somewhere else? Threw random stuff together?

Me, my name comes from waaay back when FFXI first came out in the U.S.

Friend and I started Tarutaru brothers: He was BLM, and I was WHM.

He was Rimeshume, and I was, and am to this day, Rimashuma.

In regards to FFXI, I got Lonewolf from Lone Wolf the pickpocket in FFV-VI. I had no intention of being Mithra (I still think they're a little strange-looking at times even though they've grown on me), but Bradygames (TAKE YOUR GAME FURTHER!) was full of a great deal of misinformation. I wanted to be a THF and Mithra was recommended for just about every melee job class (OMGDEX). Thus, I came to have a tail (would have been Manthra if the choice had been available).

Put an Elvaan and Mithra THF in a party, same gear, same playing skill, same individual SA/TA/WS uses, then run a parser, it can really go either way or be a total stalemate. Seems the only truly effective difference in FFXI races was HP/MP value and RSE.

Speaking of RSE, Galka BRDs were immensely overpowered in mana because they had an enormous amount of MP-heavy racial gear. Because the BRD class has no natural MP, Galka BRD/WHM with RSE beat Taru BRD/WHM in MP easily.

For WoW and forum use, I had been going to Starbucks and Jamba Juice much more often than I really should have. They just happened to be on my mind when I made Frappuccino and Jambajuice.

I have two character names I always use...
Akavari (Made up)
and Longelis, which is a misspelling of Longinus, said to be the man who pierced the belly of Christ.

(Lanza De Longinus Means Lance of Longinus)

For Mythago is was the name of imaginary creatures that inhabited the forest called Ryhope Woods that took the form on legends of Earths past.

Bozka was the name of my great-great-grandmother. (first name, can't spell her last since it's written in Russian)

Spriggle is from the dark depths of my brain where all my fanfic and short stories go. >.> (plus I thought it sounded cute)

My FFXI name, Saard I made up, but it was heavily influenced by the game's suggestion that shorter names are better because they won't be truncated. No big story here.

Wenrick, my online screen name comes from one of the stories I have in my head. It was created by meshing two names together. The first name is Wengreen, which was the surname of a person I met when I was in England. The second part comes from my desire to use a British style of wording. I was fascinated that the W was silent in names like Berwick, Keswick, and Norwich. However, I couldn't exactly use the name Wenwick, cause it came across as too . . . uh Welch. However, the name Rick came to mind, and it ended up meshing perfectly with Wen.

So there you have it.

I made a taru, and taru's look like kids, and Bambi means child, but someone had taken it for their mule, so I just added another 'i'.

Ferris? It's my last name. >_>
My Hume SAM's name is Bueller, no secret as to how I got that one.
Flag is the abbreviated version of my old online name Flagstaff (Thought it was funny since it's the name of a city in AZ).

Got my FFXI name, Magius, from several DragonLance books. However, over the years of playing many of my friends refered to me as Mags and I've taken a liking to it.

Since it was taken on my server for my paladin, I took Nobrin. He has a lot of history on my old server of Gilgamesh. He lead the most successful JP hnm ls, had several kings abjus including a dalmatica +1. At the height of his linkshell's success, he stole several hundred million gil from the bank as well as several other LS items and RMTed them.
