Default Coloring/Painting

Hopefully this will be my last dumb-ass question =P. What's a good program to transfer .dds to bmp or one that can be used to paint/manipulate .dds files directly? I'm guessing you can "color" .dat files directly, and only through the manipulation of .dds

Personally I use Photoshop. Theres a DDS plug in that you can get for it that allows you to directly manipulate them.

Its none of my buisiness what people do online, but posting that your getting a bootleg copy of a program on a chatboard doesent make much sense to me. Call me paranoid, but Adobe has a free 30 day download of the program avaliable and the dds plug in is free, better than bootleg. But again its none of my buisiness.
Here is the link for the dds plugin
http://www.ffximc.com/page.php?id=62
and this is a link for the free 30 day trial
http://www.photoshopsupport.com/phot...ree-trial.html
All you have to do is make a free account at there website.
And if you dont want to do that I know all I did was google adobe photoshop and one link was a direct download without me having to make a account.

If you don't care much for trial software and don't like Gimp either, you can also get Paint.NET, which is free. I think the newest versions have the .dds plugin built-in, but if not, you can find it in the plugins section of their forum.

Sweet, appreciate it. Here is a few images I made a long time ago, along with a sketch of the Medusa I'd like to make one day heh. First I guess I should get this skeleton thing down first. I noticed that when I first pull up the images the ears are attached to a skeleton, but when I move them over to the orginal dat I am working on (incorporating them into), they then loose thier skeleton values.

Dl-ed PaintNET, and yeah gonna take a while to figure out how to adjust coloting from such a small image, unless I am viewing it wrong. Would think there would be more space for a 3d model.
