Default How to Find out where your dat location is at.

For anyone that is interested in finding where there dat is located, use either Altana Viewer or Model Viewer.
Here is a link to Wenrick's guide on how to use Model Viewer.

Here are links to download the actual programs
Model Viewer

And last but not least Altana Viewer

Nothing that hasn't already been posted before, but nice.. IMO I don't care for having MV display the ROM Location in the drop-downs.. takes away from the names.. and it displays the currently selected (targeted) gear in the upper right corner.

Well, the question's been asked before several times at random, picture showing where to find it helps alot I think so added it up top instead of the usual "use model viewer you'll see it there."

Well, it just seemed like to me a lot of people were requesting to know what dat is what and where it is, so instead of telling everyone "Use model viewer and figure it out" I decided to post this so hopefully it can cut down on the "where is this dat located" post's and hopefully this will help out some newer poster's that didint even know about model viewer and whatnot.

So what exactly do we do when neither Model Viewer nor Altana has the dats?

For example, I can't install the modified dat for "Sprite" because neither displays "Sprite" nor can I for Dancer AF. In fact, there are actually ALLOT of dats that are not listed.

How exactly does one find out when that is not listed?

I tried to find and install updated lists, but can't find any that includes the most updated information.

Thanks. These updated versions have so much more... except... this version of Model Viewer doesn't let me rotate and zoom with a mouse click. Still, this helps allot.

EDIT: Ok, it lets me rotate and zoom now. Not sure why it didn't before.

Um...

I don't have a ROM100 folder. What does the 100 mean?

The person that was working on MV/AV updates (Mort) just disappeared it seems. Not even his KI posts are updated anymore.

So I'm getting back into FFXI with a couple friends, but I'd like to be able to mod the game, is there anyone that as a current version of Model Viewer available? I can't seem to find one anywhere in the forum
