Default Is FFXIDats Safe?

I'm told there's been another bout of RMT ad attacks recently. Is it safe for me to go to FFXIDats right now?

According to what I hear, ffxi-atlas and somepage were the ones hit.

I just went to both ffxidats.com and ffxi-atlas.com and both seem fine to me, although, I do use Firefox.

Well either brower can be "safe' and at the same time "not safe".

Don't click, adds disable activeX, flash, java.. and should be pretty safe unless theirs a php redirect or dhtml redirect or something... which would usualy require you to click something anyway >.>

I use a few "php redirects" on the image board... it does it fast enough you'd never know it actually happened! :P

Best defense isn't about depending on others (or things) to protect you... its knowing yourself how to protect against it.

As they say... its usualy the end user's fault not the machines something went wrong!

I'm computer savvy enough to know not to do anything incredibly dumb, like click the ads themselves or anything, but from what I understood of the last attacks, all you had to do was go to the site. I'd just like to take as few risks as possible with my FFXI character, yeah? Thanks for the help, though.

I know it doesent help a lot and its a little off topic, but what I did after the last batch of password's stolen is I made a word document with my POL password in it. Then I just copy and paste it into pol. Sure it takes a extra minute or two to log in, but Ive been playing since almost the NA release. If I had my account stolen Id just quit no way I would do all zm cop toau etc etc again...

If you use firefox you can get the no-scripts plugin, it'll block all scripts by default and you can just set whichever sites you do trust to be able to run their's.
