Default JP job names?

I've been curious about this for awhile.

I know in some Bazaar comments people have their job levels, but for JP instead of something like xx WAR xx MNK xx THF etc, they have oneJP letter represent each job.

Anyway, my question is can anyone give me the list for each job?

if u dont have the language support, it's going to look lyk spam~
english_japanese abbveriation_japanese_how to read in english

there is puns to the names, the reading is the same but the kanji is different,
those signify weird and/or bad players.
ex. pld/thf with only greatsword, blm that only nukes, etc.
(there is special cases and more but u would have to be fluent in japanese to know XP)
also, if a 廃 is in thier comment, that means that thier a FFXI addict and
the type who think (what normal pts get on good days) exp is normal

...i wish long posts counted for more than one... :(

If you can't get your language settings to work... I took a screenshot of Rina's post so you can see the kanji.

I can almost do it off the top of my head, but that's because I live in Japan.

The ones that get me are ranger, bst, and smn.

btw DRK is also a ~kishi. 暗黒騎士.

And for anyone wondering about DD or tank, in Japanese DD's are "attacker" and tanks are "shield". "attakka-" and "tate", especially. Shield is in the auto-translator, so if you do <shield> you'll get the right character for the Japanese equivalent of "tank".

Simple communication can be "{person's name} <shield>" they should probably understand that.

technically that's not kanji, that's katakana. kanji are the Chinese characters you saw earlier with the exception of モンク, which is also Katakana.

ミスラ
タルタル
ガルカ
フメ

and male/female is 男性 / 女性

that's Mithra, Tarutaru, Galka, and Hume btw. I'm not POSITIVE on the hume, but I think that's how it's said.

ヒューム女 Hume Female i think

I recognize allmost all job names, zones, spells and abiltys in JP because... I started before NA release and use JP version for, i dont know, 2 years+. I kinda miss JP version, but i didnt want to import yet another expansion just to be able to use it. Importing Promathia was expensiv enouth -_-

i can read all hiragana and katagana ( the 42? simple symbols) and recogize a handfull kanji (maybe 10 out of the 1000+ there are -_-) kinda want to learn japanese more, but it does require sirous studding in class for years to learn those 1000+ kanji :?

I used to use these in my WS macros, that is until I got my Soboro Sukehiro and people started complaining because I used them too much. :( After that I don't use text in my WS macros anymore, Expessially Sidewinder lol.

Anyone know a way besides using windower and copy/pasting from notepad [because that is way too slow of a way to communicate] to type Japanese in the English version of the game?

I had been using both the JP and EN versions for a long time and then ever since the July version update I can only use one or the other, I get an error if I try to play one while the other is installed.
