Default VRS Error Prompt after initial log-in

Lately, after every time I log-into VRS I get the same error. I get an error message that states, "The file format which is appointed is not corresponding." Its prob from something mundane I have over-looked, but I can't seem to figure it out. I didn't change any formats or settings, to my knowledge so I have no idea what caused this issue. Hoping some one else had this happen before and can guide me to the correct way to solve this issue. Thank You in advance.

When in doubt, Uninstall > delete registry entries > reinstall =)

Saddly, I tried that, and I am still getting the same error message. (T_T)

Where are you downloading your copy of VRS from?

Maybe it is related to the WhitePaper.scn file that VRS always opens on start up? This is a wild guess, but maybe you are using an old WhitePaper.scn on a new version or vice-versa?

If it was lacking or not a real scn file then it would give another error (i've tested this), but there may be some kind of version incompatibility here?

That's my best guess with the little info.

Downloaded it off the VRS site. Downloaded another copy of DX9 also. But still getting the same error sadly. I thought it might be something to do with the white.scn also, my guess is I'll need to look up the steps to setting up VRS again as an attempt to make a fresh white.scn. But if that doesn't work I'm completely stumped.

Edit.
The thing is, I changed nothing at all. The only difference was I had VRS on an external HD and moved it to my PC's HD, but did nothing else.

No idea how, but it appears VRS is no longer set to .scn type files if that makes the issue any clearer. I'm definitely baffled by it myself, and to how how this even happened.

Well I figured it out finally. Apparently, the plug-in was set to some random folder. No idea how it was changed or even why that would affect the file type, but none-the-less it is working now. =)

Good to hear it's solved. Gotta hate VRS, it's really a shitty program. I'd kill to get my hands on a tool to export/import FFXI stuff for using on a better 3D package... but obviously the information about the DAT files is buried and I suck at REing, plus i don't even have to will to RE all that stuff when it's already done but not shared...

Yea, VRS gives nothing but grief, and I have so much more still to figure out with it. However, I will say one and only one good thing about it.....it make the game a lot more fun heh.
