Default About FFXI on PC request

Is there a Program that lets you install the game on your PC without the need to buy the actual disk? ie from a Torrent file?

I remember SE talking about making the game available for download on thier website a little while ago, I guess they still haven't done that.

Other than that I have no idea.

Quite a disturbing derailment!

You're better off not downloading it via torrent or anything... The disks don't cost that much, and you have to have the registration codes anyways (Which will cost as much as the disks do anyways!). So I'd recomend just buying the starter pack for like $4, which comes with just the game... or if you want all the expansions (You really need them after like lvl 24) get the vana'diel collection. I believe it's about $20-$30 for the game, and all 4 expansions. This way you get all the codes, and all the disks. You also get your first month free, so you can take like $14 off that price basically.

The main thing is, if you download it from a torrent or any other thing like peer to peer, you have no idea what you're getting. The people could have totally messed up the game with dat mods for all you know :P
And that means you won't have the original dats also, so you can't change them back.

MagicDisc+MagicISO can convert files between different types of disc image, burn CDs and DVDs, rip CDs and DVDs, and mount CD and DVD images... :)

if people messed with the .dat's thered probably be a comment about it by someone pissed off that downloaded it before.

Veto in, Just to mention: Assuming you already play on a different platform (PS2/Xbawks) just download it via torrent, you dont need to register or anything, ever, anywhere in the installation process. Im usinga character i made on ps2 4 years ago on pc, with a key to spare.
