Personnaly sitting n watching subbed anime helps more I think... soorta because your hearing it as your understanding what they are saying. May work for some, may not for others... I can understand and soundout some phrases.

That lesson things understanding the writing mostly though... gonna take awhile since its like... possible 5000+ letters...? O_o

Look on the bright side, it's scientifically proven that learning new languages can help prevent Alzheimer's disease. They attribute it to the fact that is excersises the frontal lobes were you have to increase your focus to learn. It's a way to improve your chances of being one of those "super seniors" living to 100+ and still able to be very self-sufficient.

Start with something easier then Japanese if you want to learn a new language... like Spanish or German.

Also remember one simple sentence. In America, silly Americans, we say "The book falls from the shelf." Everywhere else, and I do mean everywhere, it's "The book from the shelf falls."

It may sound silly but every sentence in just about every other language is constructed that way. Plus I thought Japanese had 200+ and Chinese had 1000+ :\ Meh. I'll stick to the languages I know.

simply reading alot helps extend life and improve memory since it excercises the brain and helps it learn, and i've read a health study, a single, 1, one, ichi, drink of alchohol a day can help improve memory were alot damages it. and german is alot easier to learn the jp XD its kind alike english in a way and we stole a few words from them so most americans know a little german (stopp=stop, etc)

Stoppen, actually. :P

Actually depending on what your talking about there are about 3-4 different words for "Stop"... but yeah anyway.
