I'm loving it so far. Personally the only thing I don't like is how only 1 person can learn a Quickening on that part of the board at a time and you can't undo it if you learn it. I love the Gambit system because for some of the more chaotic battles I can leave my guys running and switch over and control manually whoever need micromanaging. That makes for some fun battles.

Also the thing I don't like is the Mark/Bounty difficulty ramps up REAL fast... >.> You shall fall Cluckatrice... you... shall... FALL!!!!!!!!

I love it a lot. My only complaint which is a big one. Random Treasure chests. The developers will burn in hell for that one.

Actually the battle system is more like a Star Ocean/Final Fantasy Hybrid. It's so much better than FFXI's system just because the battles are so much more fast paced and fun.

Battles remind me of KotoR. Only without the cool sword combat but in exchange you get the ability to move around without having to reset your moves.

I love the system, BUT I think the license grid is very limited.
What do you guys us?

I'm using:
the main char as sword + shield + black magic + low level white magic (just cure)
the princess as sword + shield + white magic (high level white magic)
the pirate as... uh... guy who shoots stuff. I've made him learn a lot of techniques but I can't afford any. ; . ;

I used to use the rabbit lady as blm/whm instead of the princess, but she ran out of MP too damn fast, not to mention the princess can quasi tank.
I'm thinking about changing the pirate for penelo because... uhm... she has boobs. <.<
I don't think I will though, pirate is just too cool. And british. I already have sex appeal covered with the princess. :3

Aaaanyway, I'm trying to stay away from having a bunch of characters that look all the same, but the grid is too damn small. >_<

Limited not at all. Some people do have advantages over others but that is like in XI as well. A taru would almost always be a better black mage then a Galka. But you can do what you will with these characters.

I haven't finished what I will do with the characters but I do know. Balthier will use Measures!! And Penelo Guns....

Lol all of mine are hybrids.

Vaan = Sword/Shield heavy into augments and tecknicks, got some white and green magic.
Balthier = Guns lol White magic too
Fran = White magic, Black magic, bows and stuff
Basch = Sword/shield augments, tecknicks, white magic
Penelo = Lots of magic with dagger/shield.
Ashe = Sword/shield white magic, black magic, arcane magic, augments.

Farming and upgrading weapons while I still have vossler in my party. Don't know where I want to go yet. Lhusu mines gives more money with all those bone fragments, but the north refinery in the sandsea is chain heaven at the expense of safety.

That's not what I meant o_O

What I tried to say was that the things to choose are very few to make every character different.

FF main characters stopped being cool, or even "main", after FFVIII. Sigh~ This guy is like tidus meets aladdin.
